Even though R did great in the child center on Thursday, I am glad that it’s Saturday and he is home with Dada today. I took Friday off, as they say to take a day off in between for recovery. Plus, the mom in me feels bad dumping R off at in child care while I work out. I know.. I know.. I shouldn’t feel bad, I deserve the “me time”. But I can’t help it. I feel bad.
Once I am at this for about a month, I will add more cardio to my routine or better yet, yoga or pilates for flexibility. So today is the same as Day 1, Brisk five-minute warm up walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. 5 minute cool down.
I “think” I felt that runners high. And this may sound crazy, but half way though my run I felt my body warm up, feel lighter and I swear when I inhaled I smelled an ammonia like scent. Who knows, but all I know is that I felt like I could have gone on forever, but my minute was up no sooner than it started.
So, all in all, day 2 went well. My next step is to go out and get fitted for a good pair of running sneakers. I know the cross training sneakers I am wearing are not good for my body.
